Site settings
The site's general behaviour is managed with tabs under AACP → System → System Settings (permission: system.settings.manage). Each tab gathers a topic: General, Email, Logs, Security, Telemetry, Registration, Languages, Modules, Plugins. A module offers its own settings in the Modules tab (or on its own screen).
General
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Site name, description | Appears in the browser title, search results and emails |
| Default language | The language used when the visitor does not specify one |
| Time zone | Dates and scheduled publishing are interpreted in this zone (default Europe/Istanbul) |
| Permalink structure | The general form of content addresses |
| Title format | The pattern of page titles (%%title%% – %%site_name%%) |
| Maintenance mode + message | When turned on visitors see a maintenance page; administrators keep seeing the site |
Turn it on before a big change (theme switch, data migration, restore). While an update runs, the system already shows its own short maintenance page.
Languages
AACP → System → Languages: you decide in which languages you will publish the site. When adding a new language you choose from the list ("Deutsch"); the code and names fill in automatically. You can make a language the default, change its order and disable it.
The Localization screen is for translating interface texts: it shows which key is missing in which language, lets you edit in place and export/import as JSON/YAML. Details: Multilingual support.
Define SMTP for system emails (registration verification, password reset, notifications): host, port (587), encryption (tls), user and password, sender name and address. Send a test email and confirm it arrives. Email comes off; no email goes out without configuration.
You can edit the email texts per language from AACP → System → Email templates. Details: Email and notifications.
Theme and appearance
AACP → Appearance:
| Screen | Job |
|---|---|
| Theme list | Installed themes; activate, add a new theme from a zip |
| Theme options | Logo, favicon, social sharing image, colours and sizes |
| Fonts | Body, heading and code fonts (downloaded locally to the server; no external CDN) |
| Studio appearance | The look of the admin panel |
| Home page | How the home page will behave |
| Theme editor | Editing theme files in place (use with care) |
When the active theme changes, the Twig paths are rebuilt; the panel does this for you. If an unexpected appearance problem arises, rebuild the cache.
Choosing colours overrides that colour variable of the theme; a colour you leave empty stays at the theme's default.
Home page
You choose the home page mode: a simple home page (title, subtitle, body, two buttons, image) or a mode offered by a module (e.g. Portal, Showcase, Forum). Module modes are listed only if the relevant module is active.
Cookie consent
Cookie consent is off by default. When you turn it on, the visitor gets a consent bar for cookie categories (necessary, analytics, marketing). You customize the message and button texts and the privacy page link in the settings. Analytics scripts that need consent do not run until consent is given.
Address structure
AACP → Structure:
- Path patterns: how the address of which content type is produced (like
/blog/[node:created:Y]/[node:title]). - URL aliases: a short or custom address for a specific page.
- Changing the address pattern may also change the addresses of existing content; protect old addresses with redirects in the Seo module.
Fields and vocabularies
- Fields: adding extra fields (text, image, date…) to content types. No code is needed.
- Vocabularies: category and tag lists.
- Text formats: which filters rich text passes through and who can use which format.
Logs and telemetry
- Logs tab: which level and above is recorded (default
warning) and the retention period. - Telemetry tab: recording of security events (WAF, login); off by default.
File storage and CDN
AACP → Maintenance → Storage: copying media to an S3/R2/FTP target, the backup target and the CDN address. Details: Media and storage.
After changing a setting
Most settings take effect immediately. If a change does not show:
- Refresh the browser cache (Ctrl+F5).
- If the page cache (origin HTML cache) is on, clear the cache from the panel (AACP → Maintenance → Performance or "Rebuild caches" in Studio).
- If you use multiple servers or Redis, clear the cache.
