CPalius CMF 2.2.34

Released: 2026-10-02 · Channel: stable · Critical: no

Widgets, rebuilt

  • Studio → Widgets (also reachable from the Blog menu) is a new widget system: add widgets to an area from a searchable list, drag to reorder, switch on and off, duplicate, delete, or start from a ready-made arrangement (Classic, Minimal, Popular content, Empty).
  • Every widget has its own title, "show only in language", the pages it shows on (list, post, category, tag, archive, search), who sees it (everyone, visitors, members) and a custom CSS class.
  • 17 widget types: recent posts, most read, most commented, featured, categories, tag cloud, archive, author card, blog search, latest comments; custom HTML (scripts are removed), text, image/banner, social accounts, call to action, navigation menu. Modules can add their own types.
  • Multilingual: titles and texts are written per site language. Fill in one language and every visitor sees it; fill in several and each visitor sees their own. Empty languages fall back to a language that is filled in.
  • The old fixed blog sidebar and its settings become widgets automatically ("My previous sidebar"), so visitors see the same sidebar after the update. The old sidebar plugins and the sidebar copies in the theme are gone.
  • "Most read" uses a new read counter: the page sends one signal per visitor per half hour, because pages are served from cache. The list fills up as posts are read.

AI article writer removed

  • The "Write with AI" window and its extra providers are gone from Blog. AI translation (Gemini, Groq, free fallback) and "update translations on edit" stay. The update removes the writer's leftover settings and keys; the older single API key is kept.
  • New banner under System settings → Consent (off by default). Texts are per language; empty ones use the built-in text. The choice is read in the browser, so pages stay cacheable and CSP-safe.
  • Scripts written as <script type="text/plain" data-cp-consent="analytics" src="..."> only run after the visitor accepts. A cp:consent event is fired for your own code.

404 log

  • New Studio → SEO → 404 log lists missing addresses, most requested first, with the last referrer. "Create redirect" fills the redirect form for you; the address leaves the list once it is redirected. Entries not seen for 30 days are removed; the list keeps at most 5000 addresses.
  • Menu items can have a rel value (nofollow, sponsored, ugc), an icon (Bootstrap Icons name) and a CSS class. The theme prints them. The footer menu now also honours "open in new tab".

Pages

  • The page form's custom CSS and JavaScript moved inside the Custom fields card and stay closed unless the page already has some.
  • When the AI module is on, editing a page can update its AI-written translations too (hand-written translations are never touched). Pages translated by AI before this release are not recognised; only new ones are. With the AI module off, none of the AI options show.

SEO

  • The SEO module now lists only the blocks of modules that are switched on.

Database: new tables are created on update (widgets, read counter, 404 log) and menu items get three columns. Clear cp-core/var/cache/prod/ after updating.
